Haisley Funeral and Cremation Service - Fort PierceEdward Russell Eichin, 74, of Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025. He was born on May 18, 1951, in Long Island, New York, to the late Walter and Elsie Eichin.
Ed graduated from Martin County High School and went on to attend Indian River Community College. He was a proud and dedicated member of Local Union 630, Plumbers and Pipefitters out of Palm Beach, Florida, where he worked for over 50 years. Throughout his long and accomplished career, Ed mastered many trades, including plumbing, pipefitting, HVAC, and welding. He was also certified in heavy equipment rigging and took great pride in his work, especially his time spent on projects in Canada through Local 630.
Beyond his professional life, Ed was a man of many talents and passions. A former member of the Jaycees, he enjoyed fishing, boating, woodworking, cruising and riding his motorcycle. He also held a deep belief in giving back, supporting causes close to his heart such as St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Above all, Ed was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose family meant everything to him. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Sherry Eichin; daughters Jennifer (Cory) Johnson of Fort Pierce, FL, Kimmy (Sam) May of Murphy, NC, and Sharon Erlsten of Fort Pierce, FL; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Walter Eichin Sr., mother, Elsie Gerlach Eichin, and brother Walter Eichin Jr.
Ed will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his generous heart, and his love of life and family. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, 3015 Okeechobee Rd., Fort Pierce.
