Edward Gilio Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bradley Funeral Home - Marlton on Dec. 13, 2025.
Edward L. Gilio, a man of remarkable intelligence, generosity, and passion, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, at the age of 76. Of Lindenwold, NJ. Born on July 23, 1949, in Philadelphia, PA.
Raised in Scranton, PA, Edward's early life was marked by a bold decision to join the United States Marine Corps at the tender age of 17. Serving as a Corporal in the Vietnam War, Edward became a very proud Veteran, carrying the lessons of discipline and camaraderie throughout his life. His time in the service was a defining period that shaped his character and values.
After his honorable discharge, Edward's adventurous spirit led him to the sun-kissed landscapes of Arizona and California. However, it was an earthquake in California that would eventually steer him back to his roots in Pennsylvania before settling in New Jersey. There, he entered the construction field, a move that showcased his innate ability to adapt and thrive in new environments.
Edward's journey was one of continuous self-improvement, as evidenced by his determination to earn his GED and further his education at Marywood University. His life took a serendipitous turn in 1995 when a chance encounter with a Tax Attorney redirected his career path. For seven years, Edward honed his skills in the tax industry, a prelude to his entrepreneurial leap in 2001 when he founded Genuine Ed's Tax Service. With his beloved wife, Sherri Gilio, by his side in later years, Edward's business flourished. For 23 years, he dedicated himself to helping people navigate the complexities of the tax world, treating each client with the utmost care and striving to provide the best service possible.
Edward's life was enriched by the love and companionship of his family. Edward was a loving son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend whose presence was a source of strength and comfort to all who knew him. He shared a deep and abiding love with his wife, Sherri, whom he married in October of 2014. Sherri and her daughter, Nikki Zammer, will miss Ed greatly but will cherish all the great memories they made.
As we bid farewell to this extraordinary man, we celebrate the enduring contributions he made to his family, his community, and the many lives he touched. Edward's memory will continue to inspire and guide us, even as we mourn his passing.
