It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Edward Terrence "Terry" Gilmore, beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, who left this world peacefully on April 27, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri. He was born on October 13, 1949, in Deming, New Mexico, and lived a life filled with love, dedication, and wisdom.
Terry was a man of unwavering belief, whose love for the Lord shone through every aspect of his life. Terry found strength in scripture and peace in the promises of eternal life. Terry, a proud holder of a Master's Degree, enjoyed a fulfilling career before embracing the joys of retirement. His commitment to education and lifelong learning served as an inspiration to his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. A man of gentle spirit and unwavering resolve, Terry touched the lives of many and carried an infectious laughter that warmed the hearts of all around him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Linda Gilmore, whose love was a constant source of strength and comfort. Terry is also survived by his children: son Jeremy Gilmore and significant other Amber Blankenship, and daughters Celeste Gilmore and Ashley Tuten and her husband, David, who will carry forward his legacy of kindness and perseverance. He was a proud grandfather to Abigail Grace Gilmore, who brought immense joy to his later years. Terry is also survived by his siblings, brother John Roger Gilmore and sister Krista Gilmore, with whom he shared countless memories.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, John Edward Gilmore and Eva Marie Gilmore.
As we remember Terry, we are reminded of his strong faith, the many lives he touched and the love he shared. His memory will forever live on in our hearts, guiding us with the values he instilled and the laughter he offered. He will be profoundly missed yet fondly remembered.
A memorial service in honor of Terry will be held on May 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, where we will gather as family and friends to celebrate his life and share stories of his unwavering spirit.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson's Group of the Ozarks.
