Edward H. Gladke, 85, of Southington, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at UConn John Dempsey Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Geraldine (Lang) Gladke for 53 years.
Edward was born on July 27, 1940, in Bristol to the late Stanley and Julia (Daniels) Gladke. He proudly served his country in the U.S. 68th Armored Division in Germany during the Vietnam Conflict. He earned his bachelor’s degree from CCSU and worked as a manufacturing engineer at Stanley Works, Pratt & Whitney and eventually retired from Fuel Cell. Ed was a longtime member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Plantsville. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be remembered for being a loving and supportive husband and father.
In addition to his wife Gerri, Ed is survived by his daughter, Lisa D. Gladke and her husband Chris Rusack of Manchester, his brother, Joseph Gladke and his wife Evelyn and one brother-in-law, Alfred Pucci, all of Southington. He is also survived by his nephew, Michael Pucci and his wife Kim and 3 grandnieces, Hannah, Haley and Laurel Pucci, all of Danbury. In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by his son, Mark A. Gladke and his sister, Judy Pucci.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in the Gladke Family plot at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held before the service from 9 – 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
