Edward Vance Grable, 67, passed away on January 9th, 2026, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Ed was born in Little Rock to Lina Jane Talley and Darion Lane Grable. He was also raised by his loving and dedicated stepfather, James Lee Talley.
Ed was truly a great man, with a big heart. He was a man of integrity, who lived his values. He had many lifelong friends and cherished family who will never forget Ed’s famous sense of humor, his uncanny ability to tell a great story, and his deep generosity. Whether it was family, friends, coworkers or neighbors, Ed believed that you always show up for someone in need and stay present with those you love.
Ed spent his long career in automotive restoration. He was an outstanding cook, and an amateur pit master. He loved to watch The Razorbacks. Ed loved exploring with his motorcycle, taking his beloved boat out on the water, and taking many cherished trips around the country with family and friends.
Ed’s sons, Thomas and Tim, were his world. He did everything in his power to shape them into good men. This included coaching baseball, watching them learn Kung Fu, helping build their first cars, and let’s not forget fishing, lots and lots of fishing.
Ed’s favorite role was that of a grandparent. He treasured his time with his grandkids and loved being their “Papa Ed.” He was there for every holiday, and every birthday. Before he left this world, one of the last things he said was that his grandkids were the joy of his life.
There is no doubt that Ed’s passing will leave a massive hole in the lives of those he left behind. He was a wonderful man, full of life and joy, and willing to share it with all those he loved.
Ed is survived by his two sons, Thomas (Elizabeth) Grable and Timothy (Caitlin) Grable; eight grandchildren, Connor, Bridget, Lily, Wyatt, River, Finn, Sawyer, and Aurora; sister-in-law Deborah Grable; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors. Ed was preceded in death by his mother, Lina Jane Talley; father, Darion Grable Sr.; stepfather, James Lee Talley; brother, Darion Grable Jr.; and nephew, Benjamin Grable.
