It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Edward Walter Grossman, 79, of Jacksonville, NC, passed away on October 18, 2025. Born on October 11, 1946, in Augsburg, Germany, Ed was an only child who grew up in and around Hamden, CT before moving to Jacksonville, NC in 1986.

Dad was hard-working and dedicated. He spent 4 years in the USMC before working and later retiring as a Postal Service Supervisor where he was known for his leadership and attention to detail. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and friends.

Dad loved his hot rods throughout the years. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing, football and action and sci-fi movies. Dad taught his children how to play pool as young kids in their basement as well as target shooting. Later in life, he taught them to drive and how to maintain a vehicle.

He is survived by his two children: Michael, Michelle and husband Josh; five grandchildren: Grace, Charlie, Kevin, Jordan, Megan, & Ethan; and was preceded in death by his wife Joyce. Dad also had many friends who will miss him dearly.

His family will be planning a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to One Place, of Jacksonville, NC,

(www.oneplaceonslow.org) a non-profit his daughter has worked hard to advocate for as an employee of over 22 years.

We find comfort in knowing that Dad's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.

To express condolences, to share a memory or photo, please do so on the tribute wall.
