Catherine Grossman, 92, of Sterling, IL, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Allure of Sterling. She worked for CGH Medical Center as a Licensed Practical Nurse, before retiring in 1994.
Catherine was born on September 5, 1932, in Willoughby, OH, the daughter of William and Flora (McNeil) Bruce. She married Dale Luther on September 5, 1954, then Richard Grossman on May 16, 1992, then a life mate Webb Ideue in 2003 in Dixon. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon, Hats Club, Mother of Twins Club, Adult Only Club, Good Timers Club, Methodist Women's Group, TOPS, Square Dancers Club, and the Retired Nurses Club. Catherine enjoyed spending time out at Woodhaven Lakes and traveling to Hawaii, Mexico, Florida, Texas, plus several cruises.
Catherine is survived by her children, Bruce (Patricia) Luther of Leesburg, FL, Terry (Lee Ann) Luther of Rock Falls, IL, Perry (Diane) Lowry-Luther of Maple Grove, MN, Scott (Katie) Luther of Simpsonville, SC, Glenn (Kerry) Luther of Lanark, IL, Flora May (Robert) Braggo of Dixon, IL; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; her 2 husbands; her life mate; one brother, Robert (Evelyn) Bruce; and one sister, Margaret (Archie) Shearer.
A Family Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon, with Pastor Jack M. Briggs, officiating. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
