Edward Newton Hall

Edward Newton Hall, 80, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Edward was born on August 30, 1945, in Norfolk, Virginia. His childhood was spent moving along the East Coast, to included Tampa, FL which he loved. As a young adult, Edward settled in Silver Spring, Maryland, later raising his family in Bethesda, MD before eventually making Virginia Beach, VA his home.
Edward began his working life in Washington, D.C., proudly serving as a porter. A determined and self-made man, he went on to build several businesses throughout his life. He started his career owning a towing company and later as an electrician, among other ventures. After marrying his beloved wife, Sharon, the two became business partners, building and operating a ceramic shop together. Their complementary artistic talents and shared dedication sustained the family business for decades. Prior to retirement, Edward continued working alongside his family, helping run a pizza business.
Edward met life with courage and determination and was a steady, protective presence for his family. He loved in the way he knew best-through dependability, hard work, and showing up when it mattered most. He was rarely without a Diet Coke in hand and found joy in making memories with his grandchildren through carousel horses, golf cart rides, and his enthusiasm for decorating at Christmas, collecting unique antiques, and taking long car rides exploring life with his wife.
His memory lives on through the traditions he created, the lessons he taught, and the love he shared with his family.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Duke and Gladys Hall; his beloved wife, Sharon Elaine Hall; and his cherished son, Frank Wellington Hall.
He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Elaine Miranda and her husband, Anthony; Cynthia Lee Hall; and Theresa Elaine Kotarides and her husband, Petro; his grandchildren, Isabella, Alec, Addison, Alexander, Lilley, Bailey, Skyla, and Benjamin; and his devoted sister, Virginia Lee Hall.
A private family service will be held to honor Edward's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation or a charity of your choice.
His toils are done, his work is over. We love you more, Dad.
