Edward Hare Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 19, 2025.
Edward "Ted" Theodore Hare, 76, of Vancouver, WA, passed away on August 30, 2025. Born in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania on January 24, 1949, to Walter Wolfgang and Garnetta Boyer, Ted was later raised in Watsonville, California by Olan Hare, whom he regarded as his father. Ted graduated from Watsonville High and pursued further education at Clark College. He embodied a spirit of lifelong learning and held great pride for his college graduate granddaughters. His professional life was largely dedicated to the Aluminum Extruding industry, where he began as a young man and excelled throughout his career. Ted worked at notable corporations such as Anodizing, Inc., Vanexco, Vanalco, Alcoa-Vernon Works and SAPA. He was celebrated for setting records in production and later shifted his focus to Die Design and Die Correcting, contributing significantly to projects for Lockheed Martin. While Ted did not serve in the military, he held deep respect for those who did, especially his brother who enlisted in the Army. His life was marked by a vibrant personality; he was the life of the party, known for his quick wit, humor, and captivating storytelling. A workaholic by nature, his early years involved various jobs from working on a chicken ranch to picking chives and working in factories as a young man. Ted's hobbies included fishing, playing pool, poker, bowling, old cars and a game of chess if a worthy opponent was around. He often expressed a wish for more time to enjoy these activities.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Ginger; son, Edward T.T.; stepdaughters, Breeanna and Danielle; granddaughters, Morrgan, Hannah, Natalie, & Sydney; great grandchildren; siblings, Walter, Ramona and Kathy; and various nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Edward "Ted" Theodore Hare will be remembered as a charismatic and dedicated individual who brought joy and laughter to those around him, leaving a lasting impact on both his family and his industry.

Miss you grandpa Ted! I know you are in a better place now and looking down on us all with love! You always knew how to make me laugh and I will forever remember our rides back home blasting Hotel California in your car! Thank you for loving me and guiding me!

I miss you dad! I will always remember "pretty lights" and "wanna wanna" drag racing at Woodburn Speedway - I know you are pain free and walking the streets of gold now...or rather driving that 1968 Camero surely! Love you! gigi
