Edward Able Helms

Edward "Eddie" Able Helms, 76, of Charlotte, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021. He was born in Mecklenburg County to the late Horace Helms and Betty Sharpe King. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Mary Cook Helms; a brother, Joe Helms, and a sister, Judy Brown. Eddie will be remembered as one of the kindest people you would ever meet. He always had a smile and a kind word for everybody. He loved his family unconditionally and he will be greatly missed. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Crystal Helms and her husband Russ, Rhonda Pike and her husband Keith, and Tony Helms and his wife Amber; his grandchildren, Lanie, Caitlyn, Austin, Colbey, Lauren, and Holly; six great grandchildren; as well as his sisters, Connie and Reba. The family will greet guests from 11:00 a.m until 12 noon, Monday, January 3, 2022 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. A service to celebrate Eddie's life will be held immediately following at Noon, also at the funeral home. Interment will conclude at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Mount Holly.
