Betty Cornelison Lockridge, 78, of Mt. Holly, passed away peacefully at Caromont Regional Medical Center on September 25, 2025. Betty was born in Wise County, Virginia, daughter of the late James Patrick Sr. and Thelma Vance Cornelison. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband James David Lockridge, and three siblings: Patricia Canady, Joann Cornelison, and Linda Hilby.
Betty was a loving wife to her husband James, a devoted mother of three boys and friend to all who knew her. She had a gift of cooking wonderful southern food for her boys which will be dearly missed. Mrs. Lockridge was a caretaker and friend to those around her she had a special way of lighting up in conversation with others. She loved to sit down and pass time with an occasional cross-stitch pattern which turned into a beautiful memory for her family.
Those left to cherish her memories include her sons: James Patrick(Jill) Lockridge, Jody Lockridge, and Jason Wesley Lockridge. She had two grandsons Jamey and Conor Lockridge , numerous nieces and nephews ,and her siblings Becky Foster and Jimmy Cornelison.
A visitation will be held at Woodlawn Chapel on Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 6pm to 8pm. There will be a graveside at Salisbury National Cemetery on Monday October 6, 2025 at 1:30 pm. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association by visiting www.heart.org. Condolence messages may be sent to the family by visiting www.woodlawnfuneral.org. Woodlawn Funeral Home of Mount Holly is caring for Mrs. Lockridge's family.
