Edward S Hernandez, 86, of Las Cruces entered eternal life to be with our Heavenly Father on April 1, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Edward along with his identical twin were born in Santa Fe, NM to Jessie and Melinda Bias on 1/1/1938. He was adopted by his Aunt Nemecia and Uncle Satunino Hernandez. He married his love and soulmate Cecilia Gonzales (who was also an identical twin) on July 26, 1958. Together they raised their 3 beautiful children Elena, Monica and James in Santa Fe, NM. In 1998, they moved to Las Cruces to help raise their grandchildren. Edward served in the Army from 1955-1958 and then went on to graduate from the NM State Apprenticeship of Carpentry in January 1963. He worked as a carpenter all his life as he loved to constantly be building something. Edward also loved being outdoors feeding the birds and in his earlier years loved to fish, hunt and go camping.
Edward was preceded in death by his wife Cecilia, son James, twin brother David, brother Rudy, stepsister Theresa( Sister Avila) and his parents Nemesia and Satunino. Edward is survived by his daughters Elena(husband)Mike Sena, Monica (husband) Joe Escamilla, grandchildren Tanya, Mathew/ Michele Antonio Padilla, Elizabeth (husband)David Mengon, Linda (husband) Logan Weinstein and James Escamilla He had 6 great grandchildren, sister Irene (Esperanza) Hope Wesley and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A Funeral Service is scheduled for April 19, 2024 at 11:00 am at Las Cruces First Assembly, 5605 Bataan Memorial W, Las Cruces, NM. 88012. Pastor David Vistine will officiate the service.
A second Funeral Service will take place in Santa Fe, NM on April 29th at St. Ann's Church, 511 Alicia Street at 10:00 am. A burial will follow at the Rodriguez Family ranch.
