Edward Glenn Housley, age 74 of San Angelo, TX, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024. Eddie was born to Harold D. and Nettie Buffalo Housley on May 11, 1949 in Jonesboro, AR.
Eddie was a 1967 graduate of Valley View High School and attended Arkansas State University – Beebe. He served 7 years in the Arkansas National Guard, 875th Engineer Battalion while working on the family farm. He was a 33rd Degree Mason at the Cardinal Lodge in Weiner, AR where he served as Worshipful Master for several years. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite in Little Rock, AR. Eddie was a devout Methodist, loved his church Sierra Vista UMC, and his Sunday School CC Class. Eddie loved to fish with his family and spent many hours on the lake waiting for the crappie to start biting. He enjoyed taking his grandson Will turkey hunting and could not wait for his son Matt to turn 16, so he did not have to deer hunt any longer.
Eddie met his soulmate Marsha Smith on a blind date in 1966, were married on April 2, 1970 and enjoyed 53 years together. They lived on the family farm for 10 years before moving to Batesville, AR to pursue other ventures. In 1984, they moved to San Angelo, TX where they raised their children Heidi Lynn and Matthew Daniel. Eddie managed Abell Transfer and Storage for 36 years until his retirement.
Eddie is survived by his wife Marsha, daughter Heidi Williams (Jacob), grandsons Will Carson, Grayson Housley, Joshua and Luke Williams, granddaughter Jody Carson, great-granddaughter Knoxley Carson, brother Tucker Housley of Jonesboro, AR, sisters Kay (Jerry) Hunter of St. Charles, MO and Deborah Angel (Bruce) of Jonesboro, AR, and sister-in-laws Mona Housley of San Angelo, TX, Shari Lewis of Cash, AR and Sandra Worlow of Paragould, AR and many nieces and nephews. Eddie was preceded in death by parents Harold and Nettie, sister Donna Fuqua, brother Bob Housley and his best friend and son Matt Housley.
We want to give a special thanks for his Visiting Angels Brianna, Jan, Esmeralda and Lapecia.
