Edward Hurley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holloway Funeral Home - Pocomoke City on Jan. 22, 2026.
Edward "Eddie" Lee Hurley passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on January 16th, 2026, at the age of sixty-four. Born on November 5th, 1961, Ed was the son of Richard Hurley (deceased) and Ann Hurley. Eddie spent his entire life in Pocomoke, but he was known and loved throughout the Eastern Shore.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Danielle, and his greatest joy, son Carter; He is also remembered by his stepchildren Jason Thornton, Emely Martin (Sara), Devin Martin; godchild Troy Rubel (Shaterria); brothers Richard Hurley and Jeff Hurley (Lori); grandchild Drew; nephews RJ, Zachary, nieces Amanda, Tatum, Jocelyne, Lindsay, and Brittany; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and friends that he considered family. Eddie's love extended to the numerous four-legged companions he welcomed into his home over the years.

For over forty years, Eddie dedicated himself to the amusement industry, including working for Delmarva Amusements, Matthews Amusements, and Entertainment Experts. His work and personality made him a familiar face from the ocean to the bay.

Eddie's generosity touched countless lives. He opened his home and heart to many over the years simply because he believed it was the right thing to do. Eddie was known for his great spirit - described by many as a great friend, husband, father, son, brother, and simply a great man. His quick wit and humor brightened the days of those around him.

Eddie loved to travel and played multiple sports throughout the years. He was an avid fan of the Ravens, Orioles, MD Terps, and Nascar and attended many memorable sporting events including the World Series, Super Bowl, Daytona 500, and The Masters.

Even though he cherished time with his friends, his favorite thing was spending time with his family, especially his son Carter. Their bond was special and will endure even though Eddie is no longer physically present.

Eddie bravely battled cancer with remarkable strength and dignity, inspiring all who knew him. Even in his challenging final years, he remained focused on the well-being of others and found joy watching those around him live life to the fullest. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Pocomoke Elks on Saturday, February 14th, at 2 pm. Ed would want everyone to feel comfortable, so please dress as you wish.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor Eddie's memory to consider donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Worcester County Humane Society.
