Obituary of Edward Louis Kennedy
Edward Louis Kennedy, born on June 28, 1952, in San Angelo, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was the beloved son of the late Roy Donald Kennedy and Mary Josephine Strakos. Edward spent his formative years in Fort Worth, growing up alongside his two brothers and one sister.
Edward was a devoted family man, blessed with a large and loving family. He is survived by his wife, Debbie, and his four cherished children: Donald Kennedy, Jennifer Holmes, Deana Kennedy, and Daniel Kennedy. He was previously married to Janie and Waynell, with whom he shared his children. Edward is also survived by his siblings: Gary Kennedy and his wife Toni, Bruce Kennedy and his wife Carol, and his sister Tamara Piland, whose husband Cliff predeceased her.
Along with tons of nieces and nephews, Eddie is also survived by 3 great grandchildren and his grandkids: Austin, Alexa, Anna, Aspen, Aiden, Ashton, Brooke, River, Dean, Jack, Tucker, and Hunter.
A master of his craft, Edward dedicated over 50 years to his work as a tree trimmer, earning accolades and trophies in tree trimming competitions. His passion for horticulture led him to innovate by creating and cultivating hybrid pecan trees and rose bushes, long before it became a popular pursuit. Edward's talents extended beyond his profession; he was an avid woodworker, a skilled handyman, and enjoyed the simple pleasure of rolling his own tobacco.
Edward's life will be celebrated at a service held at Thompson Funeral Home, located at 6009 Wedgwood Dr, Fort Worth, TX 76133, on December 20, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. His legacy of love, dedication, and innovation will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
