Edward George Kuhn, age 102, passed away the morning of June 2, 2025 at the Delaware Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Ed was a man from the Greatest Generation. He was a decent man with high principals, very kind, loving and humble. He was happily married to Helene Uhlig for almost 64 years before her passing. Ed was a very devoted and loving father and grandfather. His faith in Christ was a major part of his life. It was reflected by the man he was in everything he said and did. He passed his faith to his children by living it out. He and his wife were involved in founding the Tri-state Lutheran Fellowship. Ed Kuhn was born March 17, 1923, in Port Jervis, NY. He is the son of the late Walter Kuhn and Elizabeth Aumuller Kuhn. He graduated from Matamoras High School in1 939. After his graduation Ed served in the US army during World War II from1943-1946.Ed was originally assigned to the 157th Engineer Combat Battalion. After a hospital stay in England, he was reassigned to the 23rd Armored Engineer, 3rd Armored Division. During his service Ed was seriously wounded in Belgium and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Rossa Fleming VFW Post #161and Devore-Quinn American Legion Post#486 After serving his country he studied photography at Fairleigh Dickinson Junior College and graduated in 1948.He then started Ed Kuhn Photos and photographed many weddings throughout his career. His talent for photographing was also reflected in the many portraits he took at Eddy Farm Resort and for the local school yearbooks. Because of his gentle demeanor and excellent ability to produce beautiful photographs he became well known in his community as an excellent professional photographer and for the wonderful man he was. Surviving are his son, Paul Kuhn, daughter Melissa Moffett, grandson Daniel Moffett, sister-in-law Kathleen Starbuck and husband Don, cousin Elaine Aumuller and many loving nieces and nephews. Edward is predeceased by his wife, Helene Kuhn, brother William Kuhn, son-in-law Dainel Moffett, cousins Lydia Aumuller and Art Kuhn and his brother in -law, Karl Uhlig. Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, June 6th from 12:00pm to 2pm at the Gray Parker Funeral Home, Inc. 100 E Main St, Port, NY 12771 Funeral services will be held Friday, June 6th, 2025 at 2pm at the funeral home with Pastor Ralph Buchman officiating. A short grave side service with Honor Guard will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, Matamoras, PA. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Edward Kuhn to Devore-Quinn American Legion Post#486, 506 Avenue Q, Matamoras, Pa 18336 and the Drew United Methodist Church, PO Box 1015, Port Jervis, NY 12771.
