Edward Lopez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mission Park Funeral Chapels Cherry Ridge on Feb. 5, 2026.
I am writing to inform you with a heavy heart of the passing of Edward Espinosa Lopez, who entered into eternal rest on February 9, 2026, at the age of 84.

Edward was born on February 4, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas, to Amando Medina Lopez and Margaret Espinosa Lopez. He graduated from Lanier High School and had a meaningful career working at Boring, as well as working as a self-employed subcontractor in Saudi Arabia.

He loved country dancing, a passion that led him to meet his beloved wife, Dolores Tello. They were married on August 4, 1990, and shared 36 joyful years together. Edward and Dolores enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, playing games like bunco and farkle, and attending swap meets to admire collectible cars. Christmas was his favorite time of the year, as he delighted in decorating and celebrating the season.

Edward will be lovingly reunited in heaven with his parents Amando and Margaret, and his brothers Amando, Tony, Richard, and Tia Minnie. He will be deeply missed by his surviving siblings Theresa Hooper, Daniel and Annelise Lopez, Mary Lu Lopez, and Armando and Ann Campos de Lopez, as well as by his children Idie Lopez Vasquez (and Eddie), Tara Childress Lopez Hallmark (and Billy Joe Jr), Tanya Lopez Lopez (and Santos), grandchildren Justin Clark, Paul Leo Wright IV (and Catherine), Idie Palacios, Jakub Lopez (and Daniela Camaro), Derek Lopez, and Brandi Lopez, and great-grandchildren Meranda Maia Palacios, Achilles Clark, Maribella Mai Palacios, Madison Mia Palacios, Kleon Lopez, Kiaus Lopez, Derek Lopez II, Ty Saint Lopez, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to those family members who stood by Edward during his difficult times: Louis and Linda Esquivel, Joe and Rosie Ollervides, Johnny and Mary Tello, and Benny and Dora Garcia.

Visitation will be held at Mission Park, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78230, on February 9, 2026, between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm. The prayer service will take place that same evening from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
