Edward Croman Loppnow III

Edward Croman Loppnow III "Eddie" or "Bub", 52, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 18, 2025 at home. He was born on December 23, 1972, in Coldwater, Michigan, the son of Nada (Vunovich) Loppnow and Edward Croman Loppnow Sr.
Eddie devoted his life to teaching and coaching young minds for over 25 years. For the last 7 years, he worked at Battle Creek Public School as an Elementary Physical Education teacher. He was active with the martial arts community earning his black belt, was an excellent soccer player through his youth and college years, and was an overall amazing athlete that could learn any new sport he was interested in. He was a lover of 80's hair band music and was a wiz at music trivia.
Through his many talents and interests in life however, Eddie was a man that knew so many people and loved them all. He had a Mayor presence about him, considered no one a stranger and took care of his family and others before himself. Above everything else in life however, his family, children and wife meant the world to him and he made sure he was present and active in their everyday lives. He volunteered as a coach in all their many activities and made sure to never miss an event. His children were his greatest accomplishments and he was the best dad to them.
He met his beautiful wife, Julie Lockton on May 5, 2005 and they married on July 7, 2007 and have spent the remaining years together.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Julie Loppnow; daughter, Polly Loppnow; son, Max Loppnow; mother, Nada Loppnow; twin brother, Christopher Loppnow; sister, Greta (Tim Banks) Loppnow; and a host of friends and family that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Croman Loppnow Sr.; and grandparents, Rudy and Janet Vunovich.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm with the funeral service to celebrate Eddie's life following at 12:00 pm.
Interment will take place at Burr Oak Cemetery in Athens, MI.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to his children.
