Edward Maciorowski of 164 Ash St., Gardner, MA died on July 9, 2023 of complications from pneumonia. Edward was born on February 5, 1934 to Adam and Helen Maciorowski of 425 Temple St., Gardner, MA. Ed was the youngest of three children to Adam and
Helen. He had two older sisters; Theresa and Alice.
As a young boy growing up on Temple St., Ed attended Gardner public schools and spent his summers on his father's relatives' farm in Montague, MA. A few years after graduating from high school, Ed joined the US Army in 1954 and served 4 years stateside at the end of the Korean Conflict. Upon returning home he met his bride Norma Martin also of Gardner, MA; they were married on June 7, 1958. They bought their home on Ash St. in Gardner where they lived until his death.
Ed began working in the printing industry when he returned from his service in the Army. He worked in the pre-press department as a negative assembler. In the early days of 4 color process printing, "strip film" was the material of the trade with which he first worked. Ed was often fond of telling people he was a "stripper" when asked what he did for work. He worked in that capacity for over 40 years for various local businesses including Adams Printing, Travers Printing, and Sabetini Printing.
Throughout his entire life, Ed was an avid fly fisherman. Ed and Norma were avid campers and spent many summers camping in local campgrounds. Ed and Norma were also involved in square dancing and traveled extensively for square dance events.
Ed and Norma have three children: Keith, John and Beth. They also have four grandchildren: Thomas, Jake, Luke and Kate. Ed and his great sense of humor and sparkling blue eyes will be missed by all.
Edward had pre-arranged to donate his body to research with UMass Medical Center in Worcester, MA. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 19th at 10:00AM at Cornerstone Church, 122 Gardner Rd., Winchendon, MA 01475.
