Edward McElduff, affectionately known as Eddie Mac to his family and friends, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 18, 2025, surrounded by those he loved most. He was 63 years old.
Born on November 7, 1961, at St. Luke's in Newburgh, Eddie was raised in Beacon, New York. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes High School and graduated from Beacon High School. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Marist College and spent over 34 years building a proud and loyal career with Pepsi-Cola of the Hudson Valley.
Eddie was a devoted father, a proud grandfather, and a beloved friend to many. He is survived by his four children, Michael (his self-proclaimed favorite), Danielle, Aidan-Elizabeth, and Lauren, as well as his loving sons- and daughter-in-law: Abdool, Michelle, and Ricky. His greatest joys in recent years were his three beautiful grandchildren, Nora, Audrey, and Noah, whom he adored with all his heart.
He is also survived by his brother Jerry, sister-in-law Mary, his sister Maureen, and brother-in-law Kevin, as well as a large and loving extended family of McElduff, Kelly, and Ruf cousins. Eddie now reunites with his parents, Jerry and Anita McElduff, who preceded him in death.
Eddie was a lifelong New York sports fan! He cheered for the Yankees, Giants, Knicks, and Rangers, but if they weren't playing, he rooted for any team representing the Empire State. A proud Beacon High School football alum, known by many as "Mad Dog", he later played in the local softball leagues and coached countless teams in Little League, Pop Warner, girls' basketball and girls' softball. If Eddie knew you had a game, he'd be there cheering you on, win or lose.
He lived his life with incredible spirit and joy, making memories everywhere he went. From Super Bowls and World Series games to concerts (including Taylor Swift!), and golf tournaments, he never missed a moment to enjoy life. Whether it was a weekend in Long Beach Island, a trip to Florida or Ireland, or time spent in his all-time favorite place, Margaritaville, Eddie was always surrounded by friends, laughter, and love.
What truly set Eddie apart was his warmth, wit, and gift for storytelling. He had a remarkable way of lighting up a room with his presence, offering unforgettable bear hugs, and making everyone feel seen and valued. His laughter was contagious, and his generous heart left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
A wake will be held at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey on Friday, May 23, 2025 from 3 to 7 p.m. with a funeral Mass to follow on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church. Family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of Eddie's life at St. Rocco's in Beacon, immediately following burial at St. Joachim's Cemetery.
Eddie Mac was one of a kind. His memory will live on in the stories, smiles, and hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Memorial donations in memory of Eddie may be made to the American Kidney Fund.
