Edward L. Mendenhall

Edward L. Mendenhall, 85, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Tuesday April 15, 2025 at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. He was born on October 9, 1939 in Sullivan, Missouri, the only child to the late Leroy & Kathryn Bandy Mendenhall.
Ed proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. Following his well-deserved separation from the military, Ed went on to own 7 Burger King franchise locations. His bright and welcoming personality made it so he never met a stranger. In his free time, Ed loved being outdoors. He especially enjoyed time boating, fishing and traveling. Ed's happy place was the Florida Keys and he found himself at home in Key Largo. Above all else, Ed loved his family with his whole heart. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his quick wit, bright smile and the love he had for his family and friends.
Left to cherish Ed's memory are his adoring life-partner, companion and best friend of over 20 years, Ms. Linda Mendicino of Murrells Inlet; his children, Garry Mendenhall and his wife, Karren in Longs, SC, Natalie Williams of Garden City, Michele Tribou and her husband, Mike of Auburn, ME, & Allan Mendenhall and wife, Shari of Poland, ME; an army of grandchildren as well as several great-grandchildren; and many supportive friends and neighbors.
A Celebration of Ed's life will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
