Edward Eugene Mills

Edward (Ed) E. Mills, age 79, passed away on October 26, 2023.
Ed served 4 years in the United States Air Force. After 31 years with Midsouth Division of Vulcan Materials Company, including 19 years as Controller for Knoxville Mack Trucks, Ed retired. He was an avid hiker during his retirement years. He had over 10,000 documented miles hiked in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park since 2001 with his special friends and hiking companions. Ed was also a proud member of the 900 Club for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Rebecca Mills; sister, Linda Mills Eller; and in-laws, Lawrence and Ruth McDaniel.
Ed is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet Mills; sister-in-law, Gail (Carl) Kitts; nieces, Kimberly (Scott) May and Melanie Kitts; nephews, Craig and Brent Eller; 3 great nephews; 2 great nieces; and 5 great-grand nieces.
There will be a visitation on Sunday, November 5th from 1-3pm at Click Funeral Home, Middlebrook Chapel. A private service will be held at a later date.
