Dear Mr. Mix,
You were the best teacher ever to walk this earth. I know I´ve told you a million+ thanks for providing me with a quick chek turkey sandwich and a can of root beer every day of the week that I had chemistry labs and no lunch period. Which you allowed me to eat at the back of the class or in between lessons without worries. You were not just a teacher but a father to most of us in school, giving advice and encouraging us to do well. You teased me for choosing Hampton University over Howard, calling it the other HU. However it didn´t stop you from writing the best recommendation letter for me that I attributed to my acceptance into Hampton. You always jokingly shared that if you had children you would have named them Candy, Cake & Cookie Mix. We laughed every time as if it was the first you said it. Your kind spirit, Godly character and unconditional love will live on in all the students and people who were blessed to have shared your journey. The love and kindness that you have poured into me as your student made me feel like I was Cake Mix, Passaic High School class of 1995. I love you Mr. Mix and you are dearly missed.

Ed Mix - a special kind of guy!
I can remember conversations brought together by union and
school intentions.
We shared a special bond having the same birthday! Every Christmas a special card came along with a "chemistry saying" ...which brought smiles and relived memories .
We carry him in our hearts always ....the body leaves but the soul lives on forever!
Safe journey to the next chapter, Ed.

Dear Mr Mix
My favorite teacher from Phs. You were a lot of things. God has blessed you with a journey that has brought you to share the wonderful story of Ed Mix, a teacher, spiritual guide, leader, and, above all, a cherished person who grew up in the Lord´s house. You were the truth, a man who spoke of God day and day out. Your friendship to me you were a blessing to me and my mom and father-figure to me you gave me advice and I couldn´t ask for a better than god himself.
Ed Mix, a man of Christ with a heart as big as the sky and a gift for inspiring speeches, teaches the world of science but always speaks of the Bible.
For who he is today-being in the Church on your holy day of days, God has called you home to be with him-but you´ve left a lot of empty shoes to fill. Your work will never ever be filled the way you did it.
Ed Mix, there will never be another man of God with that slick hair and that undeniable presence, but you´ve earned your place in his kingdom. Thank you for undying friendship and I´ll finish what you started.
