Edward Martin Myslivecek

Do you wonder what a "life well lived" could mean? A "life well lived" could take 18 presidential administrations to complete, as in this case. Raised in the depression he served in the Pacific theater during WW II. He took advantage with 360,000 others to use the offer of the GI Bill to earn a Master of Education. He taught and coached in Babylon and Garden City High Schools on Long Island. Ed took time to run a fire alarm/equipment company, and work police duty during summers at the L.I. beaches. His community service included the Babylon Lions Club, and Babylon Fire Department rising to Captain. He ran mayoral campaigns in the Village of Babylon and served on the planning commission. In Venice, FL, Ed worked as an award-winning realtor. The Elks, American Legion and Venice Board of Realtors added to his duties to fulfill his "life well lived".
He was a beloved husband to the late Teresa Collins Myslivecek and loving companion to the late Lilian Papash.
Ed loved that he was a part of the Greatest Generation having lived through and served in the Army Air Force during WW II. He was keen on remembering special dates, birthdays, etc. for each of his progeny mentioned here.
To reminisce on his "life well lived" survivors eldest daughter Cathy Marco and husband Frank of Mystic CT, Marie Gallay and husband Sy of Babylon, NY, son Edward Myslivecek and wife Heidi Abramovich of Chanhassen, MN, daughter Barbara Colpas and husband, preceded in death, Gerald, of Coral Springs, FL and daughter Margaret McCaslin and husband Chris of Babylon, NY. He was dearly loved by 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. They will remember him as a compassionate, generous, modest and moral example to direct them all to live a life well lived.
