Edward C. Nave, 92, of Cumberland, MD passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at UPMC – Western Maryland.
Born April 18, 1933, in Bedford, PA. Mr. Nave was the son of the late Daily C. Nave and Olive Simons Nave. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria J. Nave; his young son Marc E. Nave and his sisters, Ada Elliott (Cletus) and Doris Prather (Ron). Ed was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Ed was a graduate of Bedford High School, Class of 1952. He served his country in the U.S. Army before he began work at the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company where he retired after 32 years. Ed was also a life-time member of the American Legion, East Gate Lodge #216 AF+AM, Scottish Rite, Ali Ghan Shrine Club, and Motor Corps.
Ed is survived by his daughters, Melanie Whitman (Jim), Michelle Huffman (Roger) and Lori Nave; his granddaughter Molly Moulden Barnes (Tim) and his great grandsons, Marcus and Spencer Barnes; his niece B.J. Prather and nephew Rodney Elliott (Joy) who he often referred to as more of a brother.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Bruce McBride officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
The East Gate Lodge #216 will conduct a memorial service following the viewing on Thursday at 7:00 P.M.
Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the American Legion Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.

WE JUST LEARNED OF YOUR DAD 'S PASSING. LOTS OF MEMORIES. WE ARE IN CALIFORNIA AND WON'T BE ABLE TO COME. SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS, HE WAS ONE OF A KIND,, SENNDING YOU MELANIE, LAURIE, AND THOSE TWINS PRAYERS. WILL ALWAYS MISS GLORIA AND EDDIE. THEY WERE SPECIAL FRIENDS.
