Edward J. “Ed” O’Neill, age 76, of Devon, PA, passed away on September 14, 2023. Born in Pottsville, PA, he was the son of the late Edward M. and Adeline M. O’Neill (nee Pothering).
Edward was a pillar of strength and had a remarkable life. He was a proud two tour Vietnam Veteran who served with the U.S. Navy as Sea bee. Ed always kept himself busy, he was never able to sit still for long. He was a business owner of O’Neill’s Autobody for 35 years, restaurant owner, day trader, pilot, woodworker, and avid golfer. Ed enjoyed crabbing and fishing and loved taking trips to Maryland. Ed and Carla enjoyed traveling and spent over 18 years in Jupiter Florida as snowbirds. Most of all, Edward enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and creating memories with them that will last a lifetime.
Edward was the beloved husband of Carla C. O’Neill (nee Stott) for 56 years; loving father of Jeanne M. O’Neill (Ken McFarland), Edward J. O’Neill, Jr., and Daniel P. O’Neill; adoring grandfather of Kyle J. O’Neill; caring brother of Ronald M. O’Neill and Gerald J. O’Neill (Joan). Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing 9:00-10:30 AM on Friday, September 22, 2023 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 366 West Lancaster Ave, Wayne, PA 19087, followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at St. Katharine of Siena, 104 S. Aberdeen Ave, Wayne, PA 19087. Interment Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66715-8516, would be appreciated.
