Edward G. Patterson

Bloomfield, NY - Edward G. Patterson, age 58, affectionately known as "Koko Ed," was born on January 26, 1967, and passed away unexpectedly at home, on January 20, 2026, in Bloomfield. Eddy is survived by his mother, Norma Jeanne (Walter) Baptista; his father, Albert Patterson; three brothers, Eric Patterson, Albert Patterson Jr., and Jaymi Baptista; sister, Amber Finley. He is also lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews; and a large extended family who meant so much to him.

Eddy was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and was raised in Medford, Massachusetts, and Rochester, New York. From a young age, Eddy was drawn to art and creativity. After graduating from East High School in Rochester, he attended art school, where he met his lifelong best friend, Heather (Adams) Johnson. Heather and her family became Eddy's second family, a bond he cherished deeply. Eddy later graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).

Eddy was known for his exceptionally kind heart and generous spirit. He devoted countless hours volunteering with FIRST Robotics, mentoring children and young adults. His dedication took him across the United States and Canada, where he supported competitions and inspired countless students. In recognition of his service, Eddy was honored with Volunteer of the Year awards multiple times-an achievement that reflected both his passion and his impact.

A lifelong nature lover, Eddy's curiosity began early. Along with his siblings, he collected snakes, frogs, toads, and other creatures, happily expanding the family's ever-growing collection of pets. This love followed him throughout his life, culminating in an impressive and carefully maintained poison dart frog habitat that brought him great joy.

Eddy will be remembered for his warmth, creativity, generosity, and the way he made everyone feel welcome. His presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him, and his legacy lives on through the many lives he touched.
