Edward Piggins Obituary

Published by Legacy from Jul. 24 to Jul. 30, 2025.
Edward Stuart Piggins III, 85, passed away on July 5, 2025. He will be remembered by his brother John; his kids, Kelley (Bell), Annie (Wisniewski), and Teddy; his two grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Dan and his wife of 38 years, Polly. Edward, known by many as "Stu," was born and raised in the Detroit area where he spent 45 years of his life. He was the proud son of Edward "Ned" Piggins, Detroit Police Commissioner (1954-1958) and Wayne County Circuit Court Judge. Stu played baseball and football at Gross Pointe University School and went on to receive degrees from Albion College and Case Western Reserve University. Stu moved to San Jose, CA with his wife and children where he owned and operated a private investigations business with Polly for 40 years. Despite his love for Bay Area sports teams, including the San Jose Sharks and San Francisco Giants, he always stayed true to his Detroit teams when they came to town. He enjoyed coaching girls soccer and little league and never missed an opportunity to take the family out to dinner. We would like to thank Stu's many caregivers who extended patience and kindness through his battle with dementia. In lieu of flowers, please think of one person you love today and let them know in some way.
