Edward J. Pignone Sr., of Stoneham, passed away on Sunday April 28th, 2024. He was 85 years of age.

Edward was a hairstylist and owned and operated Michel Coiffeurs in Stoneham for almost 60 years. He was an active member of the Stoneham community and was the first President of Stoneham Youth Basketball.  

He loved vacationing in Aruba, gardening, spending time at his house on Cape Cod and his family was most important part of his life. 

Ed was an avid sports fan and loved the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and Bruins.  He donated his time to youth sports in Stoneham and was a generous donator to The Jimmy Fund, Dana Farber Cancer Institute and St. Patrick’s Church.

Ed is the beloved husband of Margaret (Derbes) Pignone. He is the cherished father of Michelle Moynihan and her husband Daniel, Edward Pignone Jr. and his wife Wendy and Debra Libby and her husband Timothy. Loving grandfather of Kayla Moynihan-Valentin and her husband Richard, Daniel and Andrew Moynihan, E.J., Matthew, Nikolas and Alexandra Pignone and Hailey and Kasey Libby. Great grandfather of Brody and Jace Moynihan. Dear brother of the late Robert Pignone, Richard Pignone and his late wife Mary, and Ann Daly and her late husband Benjamin. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM on Thursday May 2nd, 2024 at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating Ed's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10 am. Interment Wildwood Cemetery Winchester. 

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Wednesday May 1st, 2024 from 3 pm to 7 pm.  Parking attendants and elevator available.
