Edward S. Pingree

CANAAN, VT – Edward "Ned" S. Pingree, 79, of Canaan, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with cancer and with his wife at his side.
He was born in Derry, N.H., on Oct. 21, 1945, a son to the late Elwin and Alberta (Garrett) Pingree. He attended the local schools and was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in 1963.
Ned spent his years in the construction field as a heavy equipment operator and upon retirement lived in Alton, N.H. and then Englewood, Fla., before moving to Canaan. Ned loved fishing and could often be found fishing for trout in the Connecticut River while his wife Lynn sat on the banks reading a book with their dog Annie. Ned was known for his sense of humor and his amazing Thanksgiving dinners he prepared for his family over the years.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of the past 38 years, Lynn (Feil) Pingree of Canaan; his children, Lori Milton of Manchester, N.H., Lisa Canavan and her husband John of Goffstown, N.H., Wendy Cloutier and her husband Paul of Rollinsford, N.H., Nolan Manning and his wife Cindy of Bristol, N.H., and Justine Goterch and her husband Jimmy of Bedford, N.H.; five sisters, Maureen Harris of Kennebunk, Me., Bonnie Medico of Wolfeboro, N.H., Nancy Sullivan of Manchester, and twins Trixie Lefebvre of Londonderry, N.H., and Trudy Pingree of Bayfield, Colo.; 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
