Edward Pitt Obituary
Mr. Edward Pitt, 85, of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, son of the late James Edward Pitt and Ella Clark Pitt, was born on September 15, 1937 in Halifax County, North Carolina.
He received his education from John Armstrong Chaloner School. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined White Oak Baptist Church.
During his early years, he worked at Weldon Veneer Mill. He later became employed at the Roanoke Rapids Paper Mill (Champion) where he worked until retirement.
Peacefully, he departed his life on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Signature Healthcare in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.
Treasured memories will remain with his son and caregiver: Dennis Pitt of the home; his loving grandchildren: Nikkii S. Pinkett (Kevin) of Delaware, Nikole Nickerson of Durham, NC, Jessica Cox of Miami, FL and Jasmine Pitt of Maryland; his brother: James H. Pitt of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his great-grandchildren: Kevin Pinkett, Jr. and Cameron Pinkett; his sister-in-law: Tonya K. Harris; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he is now rejoined with his wife: Viola V. Pitt and his daughter: Debby Pitt Nickerson May you all rest in peace and have a blessed reunion.

A Visitation will be held for Mr. Pitt on Sunday, January 22,2023 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home located at 520 Smith Chapel Road, Roanoke Rapids, NC. Funeral Services will follow the visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. The interment will take place immediately after the service at the Crestview Memorial Cemetery at 489 Smith Church Road in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.
