Edward Ray Sampson, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Morgantown, WV, on July 22, 2025, at the age of 57. Born on October 7, 1967, in the same town he would call home all his life.

Edward was the beloved son of Edward R. Sampson, Sr., who survives him, and the late Rose Marie Tonkin. His life was a testament to the strong family values instilled in him by his parents, values he carried forward as a devoted husband to his loving wife, Rachel Cool Sampson, and as a father to his adoring children, Micheal, Connor, Wesley, Coleman, Edward III, Dannielle, Emily, and Juaneen.

Ed's legacy continues through his sister, Kimberly Deavers, and his brother, James Deavers, as well as his treasured grandchildren, Raven, Maverick, Raydin, Alexander, Isabella, Corey, Julian, Logan, and Oliver, who brought immense joy and pride to his life.

An avid sports enthusiast, Ed relished the excitement of football and wrestling, often sharing these passions with his family and friends. His love for the outdoors was evident in his fondness for swimming and fishing, activities that not only brought him peace but also provided countless cherished memories with his loved ones whom he loved to spend time with.

In honoring, Edward's wishes, McCulla Funeral Home has provided cremation services. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McCulla.com
