Brian Gene Maxwell left this world on July 20, 2025, at the age of 51 with the same dignity and grace with which he lived his life. Born on November 8, 1973, in Morgantown, WV, Brian was the cherished son of David and Luella Fox Maxwell and the beloved brother of Kelly Maxwell. Brian's journey came full circle as he passed away in his hometown of Morgantown.

Brian was a treasured individual, known amongst his colleagues and friends for his unfaltering friendliness. His career at FCX Systems as the Senior testing technician was more than a job; it was his passion, and his formidable contribution took him to over 40 countries and across the United States. His ten-year tenure at Crockett's Lodge, before embarking on his adventures with FCX Systems, was equally fulfilling and is remembered fondly by all who worked alongside him. Unfortunately, due to heart issues, Brian had to step away from the work he loved, but he did so with the same positivity that characterized his approach to all of life's challenges.

Beyond his professional life, Brian's interests were diverse and full of zest. An enthusiast of firearms, he spent considerable time enjoying the company of fellow gun aficionados. He could often be found playing games on his computer. The thrill of slot machines also captured Brian's imagination, providing him joy and excitement in his leisure time.

Brian's circle of loved ones extends far beyond his immediate family, reflecting the broad impact of his presence. His special friends Tara Greb Johnson and her late husband Rick Johnson and their children, and Holly Smith and her children, can attest to the depth of his loyalty and the joy of his companionship. The family also acknowledges the comfort provided by the network of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who have been a constant source of support throughout Brian's life.

To encounter Brian was to experience a true friend. His affable nature earned him admiration and respect in every sphere he graced. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and a reminder to treasure the simple pleasures in life. The memories of Brian Gene Maxwell will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him. As we say our farewell, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a journey completed with courage and love.

With honoring Brian's wishes, McCulla Funeral Home has provided cremation services, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McCulla.com
