Wenig Funeral Home - Sheboygan FallsEdward O. Setzer, 91, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Shepherd Premier Assisted Living in Plymouth with his family by his side.
Edward was born March 7, 1934 in Augusta, son of Lester and Evelyn (Olson) Setzer. He grew up in the area, and attended school locally.
He was united in marriage to Shirley J. Lund on August 28, 1954. They shared 69 years together before Shirley passed in 2024.
Raised with a hard work ethics, he worked at various businesses in the area. After retirement, he looked forward to his job driving for the Sheboygan Clinic.
Ed was an avid fan of the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and all Wisconsin sports team. He enjoyed playing sheepshead, bunko and going camping. He felt most at home outdoors, whether it be riding the tractor, fishing, mowing the lawn or cutting wood. He had a “great” sense of humor, and was known for always having a joke or witty one-liner to share.
Ed is survived by his children: Cheryl Clevers, Larry (Shirley) Setzer, Donna (Randy) Deeley, Mike (Emmy) Setzer, Dan (Renee) Setzer, Diane (Art) Stolzmann, Lisa (Dan) DeTroye, Richard Setzer; grandchildren, Candy, Crystal, Becky, Erin, Jessica, Jamie, Jeremy, Alek, Danielle, Dylan, Drew, Dustin, Josh, Stephanie, Ashley, Matt, Damon, Samantha, Curtis, Alicia; 34 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his siblings-in-law, Cathy Setzer, Jeanine Setzer, and Joe Licht; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley; parents; parents-in-laws Carl and Florence Lund; infant daughter, Linda; son-in-law Butch Clevers; and his 7 siblings.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 3:00pm with Pastor Nathan Strom officiating. Private family entombment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Relatives and friends may greet the family at the funeral home from 1:00pm until the time of service.
The family would like to thank Shepherd Premier Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care.
