Edward William Sheehan III peacefully passed away at home on May 21, 2024 at the age of 73. Ed was born on November 5, 1950, to Shirley Mae Hamm and Edward William Sheehan II in Redding, California. He grew up and attended school in the general area around Redding moving frequently in the foster care system.
Ed served in the Navy for six years during the Vietnam era. Using the training he learned in the Navy he went to work in the computer industry and taught himself how to program the large main frame computers in use at that time. He progressed in his field and opened his own business 1985. He continued to work in Programing until his retirement in 2017.
Ed was married to Zola Marie (Saunders) on May 6, 1981 for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Over their 43years of marriage, Ed and Zola moved frequently living in many states and finally landing in Tacoma, Washington.
Ed will be remembered for his poetry, love of music, and mainly for his humor. He always had a joke to share with all he knew. He was never happier when he could get a good eye roll or laugh after sharing an old dad joke.
Above all, Ed cherished his family. He loved his children, grandchildren and sisters deeply.
Ed is survived by his sisters Sandie (Steve) Greene, Patricia (Garn) Woodall, his brother, Michael Sheehan, and his three children Edward (Kimberlly) Sheehan, Daniel Sheehan, Zola Michelle (Zachary) Tullis, and by his 6 grandchildren Connor Sheehan, Lilliana Sheehan, Sophia Sheehan, Breanna Sheehan, Charlotte Tullis and Everett Tullis.
Ed's memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends. Though he has left this earthly realm, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were touched by his presence.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 12 noon in the Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, Utah where family and friends may attend a viewing from 11:00 – 11:45 am prior to the services.
