Edward Sims Obituary
Edward Sims III, 82 of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully in his home, Sunday, February 18, 2024.
He was born January 28, 1942, in Canonsburg, a son of Edward and Edna Elder Sims.
Mr. Sims was a graduate of Fort Cherry High School and following high school, served with the US Navy.
Edward had worked as a psychiatric aide at Mayview State Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 2010.
He loved football, enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid fisherman.
Surviving are his companion of 40 years, Dinah Rutkowski; a brother, Philip Sims of Westland; two sisters, Patricia "Lucy" Sims and Edith "Hemmie" Davis both of Germantown, MD; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three brothers, Gerald and Jimmy Sims and Joseph Settles; and two sisters, Lorraine "Pinky" Powell and Catherine Mae Sims.
A memorial service will be scheduled for a date to be determined.
