Edward Eugene Sisson, 94, of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, passed away at his residence in Brighton, MI on December 22nd, 2023.
He was born in Detroit, MI in 1929 to Joseph Arthur and Hontas Lenore. Ed attended Dearborn schools, after graduation, joined the United States Navy where he was a radio communications officer. After honorable discharge, Ed attended Bemidji University where he studied education. While attending college he met his wife of 69 years, Claire Ann Sisson and moved back to Dearborn, MI to start a family and career. Ed started his career as a gym/math teacher at Pierce Junior high in Redford, MI. From there he became an assistant principal at Clifford Smart Junior High in Commerce, MI where he eventually retired as principal in 1984. Besides his family, Ed's passion was flying, and he owned many different types of small aircrafts throughout the years.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents and son David, and is survived by his wife Claire Ann Sisson, siblings Charles Sisson and Katherine Sprutte. His children Kathleen Sadoway (David), Elizabeth Reaume(Thomas), Robert Sisson and Edward Sisson.
Grandfather of Steven Sadoway(Jennifer), Lindsay Koch(Joe), Tyler Reaume (Lindsey), Meghan Reaume, Luc Reaume (Mallory), Amelia Sisson and David Sisson. Proud Great Grandfather of Will, Henry, Landon, Easton, Claire, Finley, Cole, Rylee and Mason.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at St. Mary Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, at 11:00 AM. Gathering to begin at the church beginning at 10:00 AM.
Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are asked to consider making a contribution in Ed's honor to the Wounded Warrior Project.
