Doris Elaine Hazen

Doris E. Hazen, of Lake Orion, MI, and previous resident resident of Milford, MI, passed away in the morning hours of Friday, January 30, 2026. She was 95 years old.

Doris was a lifelong teacher and pillar of her community. She passed away, leaving behind a legacy of faith, friendship, and family. A devoted teacher within the Warren Consolidated School District, Doris spent her career shaping young minds with the same patience and care she gave to her family. She was a woman of deep conviction and a devout Catholic whose life was defined by her roles as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Whether she was tending to her garden, lost in a book, or traveling to new destinations, Doris embraced every moment.

Beyond her professional life, Doris was a true artist who found joy in painting and sewing, often sharing her handmade treasures with those she loved. She held her many friendships close to her heart, finding her greatest happiness in a lively conversation accompanied by a more than occasional glass of wine. Her warmth, wit, and vibrant personality will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Doris is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph A. Hazen, and is survived by her children, Nancy (Michael) Moore, Mary (Bob) Taylor, Ralph (Sharon) Hazen, Sharon (Kelvin) Harvey, Sandra (Jim) Frisch, and Brian (Bonni) Hazen; her 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild as well as many dear friends and extended family members.
