Edward Swiney Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fort Worth Funerals & Cremations on Jan. 2, 2026.
Edward Lynn Swiney, age 70, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on December 18, 2025. Edward was born on September 22, 1955, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Doc and Oleta Swiney.

Edward proudly served in the United States Navy from July 1973 to July 1979. Following his service, he worked as a concrete truck driver and spent many years working off and on for the Risky family, beginning at a very young age. Known affectionately as "Bubby" by all who knew and loved him, Edward was always willing to help anyone in need. Though he could be a bit ornery at times, he was deeply loved by his family.

Bubby especially enjoyed fishing with his brother James, a pastime that brought him great joy and many cherished memories.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Doc and Oleta Swiney; his sister, Diane; and his brother, James.

He is survived by his daughter, Brandy; his grandson, Tate; and his loving sister, Sue McCoy, who cared for him devotedly until his final day. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Edward will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.
