Edward "Charles" Taylor
Edward "Charles" Taylor, age 73, of Buckatunna, Mississippi, peacefully departed this life on November 20, 2024. Born on December 11, 1950, to William J. and Versie Loper Taylor, Charles lived a life marked by hard work, love, and devotion to his family and community.
As a young man, Charles proudly served his country in the Vietnam War, earning the rank of Sergeant in the U.S. Army. His time in service shaped the man we knew-a protector, a fighter, and a man of honor.
Charles embraced life and taught his family the importance of integrity, resilience, and humor. His natural intelligence and deep respect for the land were evident in his passion for gardening and many years working as a foreman in the pine tree industry. With a knack for mechanics and a talent for truck driving, he wore many hats and mastered them all with dedication and skill.
Charles was not only a hard worker but also a loving father who instilled his values in his children. His love, humor, and lessons will live on through us, his family. We are grateful to have inherited his strong work ethic, his love for family, and his quick wit.
We take comfort knowing that he has been reunited with his beloved wife, who surely welcomed him into heaven with open arms. Rest well, Dad-you've earned it.
We will forever carry him in our hearts.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Philadelphia MB Church in Buckatunna, with Pastor Darron Chapman officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
There will be a wake Friday evening, November 22, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Turner Funeral Home. By request of the family, the funeral will be live streamed.

In memory of my dear cousin "Charles" as we called him when we visited from Mobile, Al throughout the years as children and grownups. It doesn't seem real because
this is a hard one for us. You were always such a kind and gentle hearted person. Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always. Sending our love and heartfelt sympathy. Asking God to wrap his arms around and heal your hearts.
Love you My Family
