Resting in Grace – Edward Albert Taylor March6, 1941 – July 3, 2025
With deep love and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Edward Albert Taylor, a devoted father, loving husband, proud grandfather, and guiding light to many. He departed this life peacefully, leaving behind a legacy rooted in family, compassion, and quiet strength.
Edward was born on March 6, 1941, in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, to Naomi Talor (Callender) and Edward Taylor. He grew up alongside his brother Samuel, in a home built on strong values and love.
He began his professional journey as an English Teacher in Port of Spain, where he impacted many young lives through education and mentorship. Edward always carried a deep love of singing, often sharing his voice with those around him. Edward's proudest role was that of a father. He began raising his daughter Susan with unwavering devotion. Embracing a spirit of adventure, he later became a flight attendant, a role that allowed him to travel the world, He visited countries such as Russia, Egypt, Germany, France and Polland, and many more – collecting experiences, stories, and friendships the enriched his life.
He later married Dorothy in Trinidad and Tobago, and together they built a strong foundation for their growing family. In the 1960's, the family migrated to the Unted States in search of new opportunities and better life. After arriving in the U.S., Edward transitioned into a new career and became a truck driver. There, Edward and Dorothy welcomed two more children, Brian and Michelle. With diligence and dedication, he worked tirelessly to provide for his family and embraced his role as a hardworking provider. His strong work ethic and humility were evident in everything he did. In time, Edward and Dorothy went their separate ways. Not long after, he found love and companionship again with Elizabeth Rice. Their journey began in 1979, and their bond deepened over the years. They were married in 2004, blending their principles and creating a new chapter filled with love, laughter, and mutual respect. Edward lovingly embraced Elizabeth's daughters – Patricia, Keesha, and Sharee – as his own. In the late 2000's, Edward joined the Harmony Project, where he continued nurturing his lifelong love of music. Singing in the choir brought him joy, community, and an opportunity to share his voice with others once more. Edward was also a devoted fan of Manchester United F.C. Whether watching games with hie family or proudly wearing the team's colors, his love for the sport – and his team – was unwavering. A dedicated grandfather and great-grandfather, Edward played a vital role in helping raise and guide the younger generations. His calming presence, gentle wisdom, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He leaves behind his loving wife Elizabeth, his brother Samuel, his children Susan, Michelle, and Brian, his Stepchildren Patricia, Keesha, and Sharee, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry his memory forward with pride and love.
