Edward Trella Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chas. Verheyden, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service - Warren on Oct. 22, 2024.
Edward H. Trella, age 90 of Warren, Michigan passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024. Born Edward Henry Trella on December 14, 1933 in Hamtramck, Michigan to Joseph Z. Trella and Lottie A. Trella (nee: Rachfal). Shortly after graduating high school, Ed proudly served in the United States Army. Following his service he started work at Borg Warner Automotive as a Machine Technician responsible for set-up and repairs of equipment. He enjoyed playing the Bass and the Accordion and met his love Benedetta "Betty" during this time. They married soon after and began their family of 6. He loved Golf and Bowling, going deer hunting with his sons and watching the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Red Wings.
Ed loved to travel and he and Betty enjoyed many cruises and other vacations over the years but their trip to Italy remained one of his favorites. As the years progressed he continued to find great joy in quieter moments like watching his grandchildren, attending their various sporting events, supporting with pride the accomplishments of Nic, Garret and Kyle as they reached the Rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America and relaxing at his cottage up north where he could soak up the sun on the beach and deck.
He is survived by his children; Joseph P. (Lisa) Trella, Patrick Trella, Robert E. Trella, Maria (Mark) Gumowski, Brenda L. Trella, Michelle L. (Kenneth) Caswell, grandchildren; Jonathan (Alexandra Morgan) Trella, Nicolas Gumowski, Garret Gumowski, Rachel (Ross Hood) Gumowski, Megan Trella, Marissa Trella, Nicole (Kenneth) Frechette, Michael Trella, Ryan Trella, Kyle Caswell, Evan Trella, step granddaughter Angela Macdonough and 2 great grandchildren; Mason Hood and Ivy Frechette.
