Anthony Joseph

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved uncle and friend, Anthony Joseph, on February 18, 2026, at the age of 93.

He was born on May 4, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, the second son of Mabel and Mekbel Joseph. He graduated from St. Charles Catholic High School in 1950 then enlisted to serve in the United States Air Force.

Tony was raised as a Maronite Catholic and received his sacraments at St. Maron's in Detroit. He spent many years volunteering in the kitchen at St. Maron's Hall under the guidance of his friend Eddy and perfected his cooking of many Lebanese dishes in those years. In the 1990s, he began attending St.Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church where he remained a parishioner until his death.

He pursued a professional career involving jewelry and watches, including working over 20 years at the Federal's Department Store.

He did not marry, but stayed in the house with his mother Mabel caring for her through her last days. His sister LaWanda and brother Allen preceded Anthony in death but he leaves behind 1 brother; Richard Joseph, as well as 13 nephews and nieces and countless friends who love him dearly.

Visitation for Anthony Joseph will be 2:00pm – 8:00pm Friday, February 27, 2026 with 4:30pm Rosary at Chas. Verheyden, Inc. -Duross Chapel, 28499 Schoenherr Rd., Warren, Michigan 48088 and he will lie Instate Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 10:00am until time of Funeral Mass, 11:00am followed by Military Honors at St. Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church, 43888 Hayes Rd., Clinton Township, Michigan 48038.
