Edward Bartlett True, 81, of Center Barnstead, NH died on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Epsom Health Care Center, in Epsom, NH.
Edward B. True was born on January 1, 1943, in Boston, MA, the son of the late Edward K. and Mildred (Richenburg) True. Edward was raised in Concord, MA. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), which is also where he met his wife of 51 years. He later worked at RIT, teaching computer programming.
In 1981, he and his family moved to New Hampshire. He was a long time resident of Merrimack and volunteered for many years at the Merrimack Youth Association. He spent 25 years working as a computer programmer at various companies including Sanders/Lockeed Martin and Hanover Insurance. He enjoyed watching old movies and TV shows especially westerns and crime/courtroom dramas, working on jigsaw puzzles, sudoku, going out to eat, and traveling with his late wife Ella.
Edward is survived by his daughter, Kathleen (True) Vassallo of Center Barnstead, NH; his son, Edward Q. True and his wife Amy of Manchester NH; his brother, Robert True and his wife Sandy of Epping, NH; his brother, Peter True and his wife Patti of Orange Park, FL; his brother, James True of Epping, NH; and his grandchildren, Edward T. True, Maxwell True, and Conner Vassallo. Edward was predeceased by his wife, Ella (Conners) True; his daughter, Laura True; his son-in-law, Michael Vassallo; and his brother-in-law, Tony Brooks.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 4 - 6 p.m. at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, in Manchester. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 6 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date in Hope Cemetery Hope, ME.
It has been suggested that those who wish may make memorial contributions, in memory of Edward B. True, to Manchester Little League, PO Box 4027 Manchester, NH 03108.
