Edward WALSH Obituary

WALSH, Edward Richard Of North Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly Watertown and Brookline, MA, passed away January 16, 2026, at home, peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Boston, on February 29, 1948. "Ed, Eddie, Rick, Ricky" spent his career as a dedicated police officer, serving the Town of Brookline from 1972 - 2006. He received his Bachelor of Science from UMass Boston and his Master of Arts in Criminal Justice at Anna Maria College. Preceded in death by his parents, Edward F. and Marie E. Walsh (n?e McKay); uncle, Joseph P. Walsh; and son, Scott D. Kennedy. Survived by his wife of 44 years, Donna M. Walsh (n?e Cantalupo); his brother, Laurence J. Walsh; his children, Kerri Lyn Walsh, Kevin J. Walsh, Laura F. Kennedy-Gillis and Sean P. Kennedy; his nine grandchildren and his five nieces and nephews. Eddie's kind spirit and warm laugh will be sorely missed by his colleagues, family and friends. Join us to honor and remember him - Saturday, February, 28, 4:00 PM, in Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish, Brookline, MA, for a Catholic Mass followed by a Celebration of Life at the Stephan F. Rutledge VFW - 386 Washington St., Brookline, MA, 6:00 - 10:00 PM.
