Edward Lee Wehmeyer of Lincoln County, Missouri passed away peacefully surround by family on July 10, 2025. He was born May 31, 1935 in Moberly, Missouri to Elmer William Wehmeyer and Bertha Mae Elsbery. He was the grandson Edward Herman Wehmeyer and Frieda Susan Schaper and Arthur Lee Elsbery and Willie Mae Hogan.
He attended the Cottage Grove School through the 8th grade and graduated from Moberly High School in 1953. He went to the University of Missouri for 2 years before deciding to enlist in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his county as a radio repair man.
In 1959 he married Emma Partin of Christmas, Florida. This union produce 3 children. Mike (Marva) Wehmeyer of Winfield, Chuck (Lori) Wehmeyer of Winfield and Linda Gerdeman of Vandalia. In 1967 he married the love of his life Carol Jean Fitzgerald. They had one child, Annie Brown of Troy.
After his time in the Air Force he worked for short time for Emmerson Electric before starting a 28 year career with Monsanto/MEMC retiring in 1990. In his spare time he enjoyed horseback riding, traveling and doing genealogy research.
He is survived by his 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren along with his 3 step children Denny (Cathy) Conoyer, Karen (Mike) Somers and Dottie Conoyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carol, sisters Barbara Bethel Scrogin and Mary Jean Anderson, his granddaughter Ginny Wehmeyer Horner and stepson Terry Conoyer.
A graveside service will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Moberly, Missouri on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 1 p.m.
