On Saturday, October 11th, 2025 at approximately 12:45 pm, our beloved mother, Christine Josephine DePiro Wehmeyer passed peacefully into a field held by grace while at her side, her two granddaughters (Jessica Severin & Stacy Ward) held her hands and sang her Italian songs.
Christine grew in up in Nutley, New Jersey and raised her family there until 1981, when she and her husband Richard (now deceased) moved to Toms River, NJ so that they could start a new life of boating and enjoy the life at the shore. In Nutley, she was known as "Tina" and in Tom's River, as "Chris". She's held various jobs and made many friends throughout the years in places like PC Drilling in Nutley, NJ, driving a handicapped school bus in Toms River, working at Kindercare in Toms River and also Foodtown in Toms River.
She was a dedicated, and deeply loved mother and a dynamic, actively engaged grandmother. She also had lifelong and very special friendships from her childhood.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses:
Joyce Ann Wehmeyer,
Richard Wehmeyer and his wife, Susan Wehmeyer,
Marilyn El-Abidin and her husband,
Nazir El-Abidin.
Her Grand Children and Great Grand Children:
Jessica Severin & her husband Joe Severin and their two children, Nicholas and Valerie Severin
Stacy Ward & her wife, Bailey Ward
Laura Wehmeyer Pizzi & her husband Stephen Pizzi
Brian Wehmeyer & his wife, Aimee Willett
Julian El-Abidin & his wife,
Lauren Fuller El-Abidin
Rami El-Abidin & Gavriella Zarin
Omar El-Abidin
Her niece, Debra DePiro Katz, her husband Michael, and two children, Sam and Lia
Also her two lifelong friends from her childhood the 1930's & 40's, Marie Nebesni & Rosemarie Burros.
We all love her dearly, will miss her profoundly and her life and memory are forever carried with us.
Services will be held on
Friday, October 17th, 2025
At Silverton Memorial Home
2482 Church Road
Toms River, NJ 08753
Time: 11am to 1pm m, followed by burial at Saint Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River, NJ
