Teresa Gallagher

Teresa Gallagher of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on October 9, 2025.
Teresa was born in Brooklyn, NY to Mathew and Teresa Finnerty on March 29, 1930. After graduating from high school, she worked for Good Housekeeping as a product tester. Upon leaving Brooklyn she moved to Morristown, NJ. After raising her family, Teresa began a new career with the Morris County Court System, eventually earning a promotion to Civil Assignment Case manager for both Morris and Sussex Counties in NJ. She thoroughly enjoyed spending her lunchtimes in Morristown shopping on the "Green" and picking up new shoes or the latest fashion at Epstein's clothing store; a passion which continued throughout her life.
After retiring, Teresa moved with her husband Sean to Toms River to the Greenbriar Woodlands community. There she participated in several clubs such as the Outreach program, bocce team, water aerobics and assisted with many other social events that the Community held. Additionally in her spare time, she enjoyed needlepoint and embroidery. Teresa and Sean also enjoyed visiting their second homes both in Manasquan, NJ and Barefoot Bay, FL.
She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Sean Gallager of Toms River, NJ and her 5 children: Michael Cassidy (Deanna) of Barnegat NJ, Pat Cassidy-Zimel (Robert) of Wilmington, NC, Christine Pagano of Morristown, NJ, Ann Calvanico (Tom) of Rumson, NJ and Sheila Morse of Morristown, NJ along with 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Teresa Finnerty, sister Regina Caligiuri, son John Cassidy, daughter-in-law Kathy Cassidy, grandson Johnny Cassidy and son-in-law Ralph Pagano.
A woman of deep faith, Teresa will be deeply missed but her memory and spirit will live on through the countless lives she's touched and her large family she leaves behind. She was a cherished member of her community and a friend to many.
Funeral service will be held on October 15, 2025 from 8:30 am to 10:00 am at Silverton Funeral Home, 2482 Church Road, Toms River, NJ 08753.
A Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 am at Saint Luke's Catholic Church, 1674 Old Freehold Road, Toms River, NJ 08755.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the local chapter of Society of Saint Vincent De Paul.
