Edward Weltmer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Avenue Chapel on Apr. 19, 2024.
Edward Quay Weltmer 76, was born on May 4, 1947, to Glenn Quay and Fern Lucille Weltmer, began his heavenly journey on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, after a battle with kidney disease.
Ed graduated from Loudonville High School in 1965. He married his high school sweetheart, Sandy Schuck, on January 8, 1966. He was employed for 42 years at Mansfield Plumbing Products, retiring in 2009. He went on to drive school bus for Loudonville for seven years and then drove bus for Holmes County Training from 2010 to 2021; a job that he loved.
Ed is survived by his wife, Sandy, of 58 years, son, Steve (Dewann) Weltmer of Canton, daughters; Lori (Jack) Zimmerman of Perrysville, and Jess (Tom) Ward of Alger. Four grandchildren, Alison (Luke) Todd, Kathryn, Elizabeth, and Grant Weltmer, and great grandsons Wyatt and Emmett Todd, and nephew Jack Roub.
Ed loved making his family and friends laugh, which he did up until the end. He will be missed by all of us. Ed never met a stranger. Even at the shopping mall when Sandy was shopping. He would be sitting on a bench whenever she returned, always in a conversation with someone, usually a lady! He also loved the game of golf with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Leafy Faught, and Nephew Jeff Roub.
Ed was a longtime member of Hanover Lodge #115 (Master), High Priest King Cyrus # 207, Illustrious Master in Ashland Council #128, and Commander of Wooster Commandery #48. Knight York Cross of Honor where he received his 50-year pin in 2023.
Calling hours will be Monday, April 22 from 5 to 7 PM at Snyder Funeral Home in Loudonville. Funeral services to be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 23. Following the service, burial will take place at Pioneer Cemetery, Loudonville. Pastor Ken Curren will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to Life Care Hospice in Wooster.
