Edward Scott "Eddie" White

HERTFORD, NC - Edward "Eddie" Scott White, 60, passed away suddenly on February 9, 2026, alongside his longtime partner, Diane Brown.

Born on June 4, 1965, Eddie lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a generous spirit. An ASE Certified Master Mechanic, he took great pride in his career and found genuine joy in working with his hands. Whether he was repairing an engine, tinkering with a new project, or helping someone diagnose a stubborn mechanical problem, Eddie's skill and passion were evident. He enjoyed life to the fullest - spending time with his family, fishing whenever he could, and working on anything that had a motor.

Above all else, Eddie valued his family. He had a big heart and was always ready to lend a helping hand without expecting anything in return. He was a faithful member of Chapel on the Sound near his home, where he found community and fellowship.

Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Horton White, and his younger brother, Johnny Horton White.

He is survived by his loving mother, Mary Ploeger and her husband Ernst "Skip"; his brother, Raymond Carl White; his daughters, Crystal Strom and her husband Randy, Sarah Kew, and Amber Test and her husband Tommy; his five grandchildren, Taylor, Ethan, Jaydin, Anna, and Lia; and his great-granddaughter, Ellie.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on February 28, 2026, at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Home in Ahoskie, NC with a burial service to follow at the White family burial site in Aulander, NC.

Eddie will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his steady hands, his generous heart, and the countless lives he touched through simple acts of kindness.
